Yes, but the bottom line is if Rush obtained the drugs illegally, he needs to have his assets confiscated immediately and punished with jail time just like any other "druggie." He is the one who loves talking about the "rule of law"; I would love to see it applied fully to him.

As a Ron Paul Republican, I think all drug laws are a waste of money and merely used as a pretext to harass innocent people, but I sincerely hope Rush is sent to jail if guilty.

Dear Frustrated and Overtaxed American:

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment on my latest article.

As I stated in the article, it was not a pro/con on Rush, it was about chronic pain.

I have been a bit confused on the rabid appetites of "Ron Paul" Republicans and Libertarians...they seem to love eating their own in some vengeful quest for ideological purity.

If the Takings Cause of the Fifth Amendment doesn't do it for you, "No person shall be ... deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation," how about a bit of human charity.

Perhaps you should read (re-read) Barbara Olson's "Hell To Pay" or "Final Days".  Rush was responsible for giving a voice back to the non-Liberals.  In his time of need, I will not abandon him for the sake of self-righteousness or dogmatic purity.

I was never a Rush fan and disagreed with much of his approach.  But, it sure as hell beats the Liberal agenda.  This is the same confusion I have with the "conservatives" who hate Bush...would they really rather have Hillary?  Sometimes choice is a question of the practical.

Once again, I do appreciate your comments and...my article really was about the seriousness and lack of understanding for those with chronic pain.

Many regards,

Dan Sargis

Dear Dan

I have to vehemently disagree that Bush is any better than Hillary. We have lost much freedom under this regime not to mention Bush is the biggest spender since LBJ. I did not waste my vote on either Bush or Gore since it came down between a socialist and a communist. However, I do not believe Bush stole the election.

I feel like the Republicans are rejecting Ron Paul as opposed to the other way around. I used to participate in speech/debate in highschool, and I know well the Republican platform has supposedly been for low taxes and less social welfare. Where is the beef? Maybe he is only 99.5% pure, but Ron Paul is the only Republican  trying to put it into action. Gingrinch and Dole payed lip to those ideas but retired millionaires at the public trough. I have no regard for a party that blathers about personal repsonsibility and freedom yet has done nothing to help overtaxed Americans attain that goal.

I have no respect for Bush as a leader. He has done nothing about the lies told regarding Waco, Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City, TWA800 and not to mention another un-Constitutional war. He has done nothing to make Social Security an honest system or at least grant an option out, at a minimum abolish taxes on IRA's, interest in savings, or capital gains. Taxes are still oppressive; anyone who believes that extra $50 a year in my pocket is stimulating the economy is a damn fool. Millionaires like him are not qualified for any political office.

I simply can not have any charity for Limbaugh. This guys blathers about Constitutional violations which are bad under a "D" but okay under an "R". Yes, he probably deserves credit for getting things rolling, but for the last 4 years or so, his show is only worthwhile when Walter Williams (http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=34646) is the host.

Don't forget that the 5th Amendment is also violated every time you are forced to sign a federal tax return. Don't forget that the laws for the "war on drugs" which is also endorsed by "Slots" Bennet and the other worthless Limbaugh brother  violates not only the 5th but also the 4th amendments, but I don't see any Republicans fixing that either.

I am tired of "compromise" and being compromised out of what is rightfully mine. We know what the Democrats are, but if the Republicans can't work abolish the income tax and various other federal agencies, then their lives are pretty useless to someone like me.

Sincerely

A Frustrated and Overtaxed American
